Ingredients
4 eggs, separated
1/2 cup caster sugar
300 ml cream
Directions
- For the basic recipe you will need 3 bowls and 3 ingredients (see photos and the 4 stages below)
- Bowl 1 – 4 egg whites; beat until stiff then add 1/4 cup of sugar and beat again
- Bowl 2 – 4 egg yolks; whisk with 1/4 cup sugar until slightly frothy
- Bowl 3 – 300ml cream; whisk until stiff
- Then fold all of the ingredients together in one bowl until combined, then transfer to an ice cream container or a bowl. Cover and freeze for 6 – 8 hours until set.
Notes
- Add a 1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence (or any other flavoured essence you like) for extra taste and colour.
- You can also add shredded coconut, melted chocolate or choc chips, fresh, dried or thawed chopped fruits and berries, nuts etc to the mix at stage 5. Simply fold in at the final mixing process. This will also add some colour and more flavour to the ice cream.
- To serve, top with fresh berries, pomegranate seeds or freeze dried berries/fruits.
